This is a research album exploring the healing potential of didgeridoo subsonics.
As a medical acupuncturist I am aware of the healing power of frequencies. For the past 10 years I have been using Scenar; a Russian healing device that uses sine wave frequencies. I found the swing function (8 sec cycle moving from 1-125 hertz and back) was particularly good at clearing the area of the body I was working on and bringing it back to homeostasis.
I have applied this same principle to didgeridoo subsonics.
Subsonics are created by pitch shifting given sounds from 1-7 octaves below the base note or drone. Each octave below in effect slows the sound down by half, so a drone will become a pulse. At 1 octave below it's a fast pulse, at 3 octaves below it's an alpha brainwave frequency, 4 below beta, 5 theta, 6 delta and at 7 octaves below the pulse is at 1 cycle per sec.
Entrainment is when the body mimics a certain frequency.
Swinging has the complete opposite effect. It doesn't allow the body to get used to any frequency so in effect you are clearing and harmonizing the area of focus.
I consider this research a triple blind study. So blind I don't even know what it will be used for!!
I plan to use these didge subsonic swings in future albums as underlying base tracks using different keyed didges for particular areas of the body.
In this album there are 12 swings from low A to high G#.
Each swing is 28 sec long (drone down to 7 octaves below then back to 1 octave below, 2 sec each) multiplied out to a 5 min track.
